EPFL Creates 3D-Printable Elastomer 15x Tougher Than Standard Materials
Researchers at EPFL have created a new 3D-printable elastomer (DNGE) that is roughly 15 times tougher than standard printable materials, opening the door to additively manufactured parts that can withstand far more mechanical stress. The breakthrough could push 3D printing further into load-bearing and industrial applications that have historically required traditionally molded materials.
